Exmouth LTC Men’s A Crowned Division 3 Champions After Standout Season in 2025

There were more celebrations at Exmouth Lawn Tennis Club as the Men’s A Team secured the Division 3 title in the Exeter District Tennis League, sealing promotion to Division 2 after a season packed with dominant performances and key victories. Building on the club’s wider success, the A team proved themselves as the standout side in the division, combining consistency with the ability to deliver big results when it mattered most.

A Season Built on Momentum

Exmouth set the tone early with a string of impressive wins, including a commanding 7–2 away victory at Tipton St John and another 7–2 success at home to Willand A. These performances established early confidence and quickly positioned them as title contenders.

Arguably the most emphatic result of the campaign came in an 8–0 whitewash over Lympstone A, an all-court display that underlined the squad’s depth and quality.

Statement Wins Against Key Rivals

Exmouth’s ability to take points off strong opposition proved decisive in the title race. Home and away victories over Kingsteignton B (7–2 and 6–3) showcased their consistency, while a hard-fought 6–4 win away at Bovey Tracey B demonstrated their resilience in tighter encounters.

Even when faced with challenging fixtures, the team found ways to stay competitive. A pair of 5–5 draws against Exeter Golf & Country Club B and Bovey Tracey B ensured valuable points were secured rather than lost.

Overcoming Setbacks

No title-winning season comes without adversity, and Exmouth’s campaign was no different. A 6–2 defeat away at Willand A tested the squad, but their response was immediate, bouncing back with strong performances to maintain control at the top of the table.

Strength in Depth

A defining feature of Exmouth’s season was their strength across all pairings. The team consistently delivered across multiple courts, making them difficult to break down and ensuring that even close matches swung in their favour.

Eyes on Division 2

With the Division 3 title secured, Exmouth LTC Men’s A now turn their attention to Division 2. The step up will bring tougher opposition, but this squad has already shown they have the quality, resilience, and winning mentality to compete at the next level.

For now, the focus is on celebrating a superb campaign, Division 3 champions, and deservedly so..
